The Treasure Island Creche is managed by Treasures Neighbourhood Nursery, part of Touchstone Community Development, although located over at the Healthy Living Centre in Staveley.
The Creche is Ofsted registered (EY 368183) and our manager, Creche co-ordinator, staff and trustees have all had 'enhanced' CRB checks which are required for anyone working with or involved in the care of children.
All of our staff are experienced, qualified and highly motivated. Staff have access to regular training to upgrade their skills and knowledge on childcare issues, legislation and continued personal development.
Children will be given the opportunity for adventurous outdoor and indoor play on a daily basis. They will also be able to access a wide variety of stimulating fun activities at every session.
Bookings
There will be places available for both 'pay as you go' and 'Inspire Members'.
All places in the creche do need to be booked in advance so that correct staffing ratios can be maintained. Members of the centre can book up to six days in advance from 10.00am onwards.
We are OFSTED registered and one of the requirements is that if places are not available then staff are within right to refuse a place for your child where the staff to child ratio is exceeded.
If you arrive at reception and have not booked a place please enquire as to whether there are any spare places. Those places may be allocated on a first come basis.
Opening Times
The opening times of the creche are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 1.00pm.
Food and Drink
Snacks and a drink will be provided during most creche sessions, dependent upon the time your child arrives and leaves. Please tell a member of staff if your child has any allergies.
If you have a baby that requires feeding whilst at Creche please provide all food and milk feeds as these are not provided. They must be clearly labelled with your child's name.
Please also bring all nappies, creams and wipes with you. If your child is potty training please inform staff and provide plenty of spare pants and clothes in case of accidents.
Registration Policy
You will need to register your child in the crech before you are able to use the facility for which there is no charge, The centre requires photographs of your child/children and also details including photographs of anyone who is collecting your child, including you.
This is an added security measure, please do not be offended if staff ask you to wait whilst they look at your photos before allowing your child to be released from their care.
All forms must be completed before care may be given.
The co-ordinator and staff at the creche are within their rights to refuse a place for your child if:
It takes them over the correct staff/child ratio.
They appear unwell.
They have had, or have any, contagious illnesses such as vomiting, diarrhoea, conjunctivits or head lice. Your child must have had 48 hours clear of symptoms before returning to creche.
Creche facilities for Corporate and local Groups
Treasures staff are also able to provide facilities for groups who are training or having meetings in the centre. The meeting rooms need to be booked through the Healthy Living Centre and the creche facilities directly through Treasures. These are only available in afternoons. Please see Creche Co-ordinator for details.
